With over 20 years of experience serving and uplifting East Bay communities, Njeri McGee-Tyner has worn many hats—as an educator, advocate, leader, and now, entrepreneur. Her lifelong love of art and creativity, combined with a passion for community impact, led her to open a Kidcreate Studio—a dream turned into reality. Njeri believes in the power of art to inspire, heal, and bring people together. Through Kidcreate, she’s created a vibrant, welcoming space where children and adults alike can explore their creativity, get a little messy, and most of all—have fun! Whether it's a child's first finger painting or an adult's return to creative play, Njeri is excited to share the joy of art with the community she loves.

Njeri welcomes you and your children to visit the studio, put on an apron and create. After all, making a mess is the best at Kidcreate!

Our Story

A studio made for kids. Run by artists.

We started Kidcreate with a simple idea: give kids a real art studio with real materials and real instruction, so they can see real progress in a place built just for them.

We view creativity as a skill that takes time, guidance, and the right materials to develop. That’s why our curriculum focuses on steady, week-over-week skill building, and why we intentionally keep our class sizes small.

Our instructors are working artists who talk to kids about color, line, and
shape the same way they would talk to anyone else in their field, and our kids absolutely rise to it.

Three times a year, we turn our studios into galleries so families can come together to see a full season of work. It’s the exact moment a kid realizes they aren't just making crafts; they're an artist.

Waivers

Quick paperwork. Then the fun part.

Every Kidcreate family signs a short liability and photo release waiver before their first visit. It takes about a minute.

Liability waiver

Required for any child attending classes, camps, workshops, or parties at a Kidcreate studio.

Waivers are sent automatically with your registration confirmation. If you didn't receive yours, reach out and we'll resend.

Photo & media release

We sometimes share student artwork and classroom photos on social media. The photo release is optional — opting out won't affect your child's
experience in any way.

Donation Requests

Supporting causes that support kids.

We love giving back. Schools, nonprofits, and community fundraisers can request an in-kind donation from their local Kidcreate studio.

What we donate

Typical donations include gift certificates for a class, camp day, or birthday party. Availability varies by studio and time of year.

How to request

Send us your organization name, event date, and a short description of how the donation will be used. We try to respond within two weeks — please reach out at least 30 days before your event.

Raise money the fun way.

Host a Kidcreate art event and a portion of the proceeds goes back to your school, PTA, or nonprofit. Kids get a hands-on art experience and your organization gets a check.

How it works

Pick a date, pick a project, and invite your community. We bring the supplies and the teaching artists. You bring the kids. A percentage of every ticket sold goes directly to your cause.
